Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Make made-to-measure garments according to customer and manufacturing specifications. Fit, alter and repair garments as required. Make, alter or re-style fur garments and accessories. Operate sewing machines or sew by hand. Select and modify commercial patterns to customers' and clothing manufacturers' specifications and fit. Mark, cut and sew fabric. Type of materials: Cotton or synthetic. Furs and skins. Nylon. Polyester or synthetic. Textiles and leather. Area of specialization: Tailor. Sewing. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Ability to distinguish between colours. Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication.
