Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Industrial electric motor manufacturer. Repair. Tasks: Assemble and fit metal and prefabricated parts to close tolerances according to blueprints. Assemble stators or armatures for heavy-duty electric motors. Collect, record and summarize inspection results. Assemble winding into core and make electrical connections. Assemble and fit electrical motor or transformer auxiliary equipment. Perform diagnostic tests. Participate in training of other workers. Monitor and inspect work. Service equipment. Prepare written material such as reports, briefs, website content. Assemble mechanical equipment. Equipment, eystems and controls experience: Electric motors. Electric motors, generators, drives and motor controls. Area of specialization: Rotating equipment tools. Industrial motors. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Standing for extended periods. Ability to distinguish between colours. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication. Organized. Team player. Accurate.
