In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of creating, writing producing, and on-air reporting, of a news story from researching and interviewing to shooting and editing.A strong knowledge and interest in news distribution on digital and social media channels is required.Key ResponsibilitiesOriginating, writing, shooting, editing, interviewing, researching, and producing television and online news storiesWill also be periodically responsible for broadcast producing, writing (including online) and the news assignment deskUtilizing ENG equipment (Atlas) & digital editing software (Adobe Pro) to produce stories in a timely, engaging and accountable mannerEdit content in the station and in the fieldSet up and operation of live equipment (Dejero)Close attention to legal, ethical, and accuracy issues in reportingWriting and producing engaging and relevant content for digitalSocial networking of news contentOther duties as assignedCritical QualificationsProven background in news gathering and reporting with a strong editorial sense and news judgementExperience in Electronic News Gathering, Video/Audio/EditingStrong competency in social networking of news contentStrong written, research, camera and presentation skillsSelf-initiative and ability to work independently under pressure of deadlinesKeen interest in and understanding of current events, local community issues and political structuresMust be available to work a rotation of days, evenings, weekends and holidaysAble to lift and carry 25lbs and stand for extended periods of timeValid Class 5 driver's licence (or equivalent) with clean driving record (abstract will be required)#EmployeeReferralProgramAdequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
