Psychological Services Consultant (1.0 FTE Temporary)<p>Learning Services<p>Applications from permanent employees from within the PSSP Bargaining Unit, other permanent Board employees, as well as external applicants will be considered.<p>The Waterloo Region District School Board is accepting applications for the position of Psychological Services Consultant. This temporary half time position (1.0 FTE) starts on Sept 3, 2024 and ends on June 27, 2025. The salary range is $66,044 to $112,053 per annum (based on 1.0 FTE). <p>Reporting through the Psychology Lead to the Superintendent, Student Achievement and Well-Being Special Education, the successful applicant will have specific responsibilities in Learning Support Services- Special Education, Grades JK 12. <p>Responsibilities: <p> Provide comprehensive psychological assessments involving diagnoses of a wide variety of developmental disorders (e.g., Learning Disorders, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Language Disorders, ASD, Disruptive Behaviour Disorders, anxiety and other mental health disorders); <p> Provide psychological interventions and consultation services together with agency liaison services that focus on individual students, parents, groups of students, staff and school-wide initiatives; <p> Provide school services as a member of the school Multidisciplinary Support Team; <p> Consultations could include facilitation of Stage II threat/risk assessment; <p> Interventions could include behaviour intervention planning and implementation; <p> Interventions could include group interventions for a variety of issues;Qualifications <p> Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario; <p> M.A. in School or Clinical Psychology (minimum requirement); <p> Excellent assessment and educational programming skills; <p> Experience in interventions and consulting in school settings; <p> Excellent interpersonal skills; <p> Knowledge of child and adolescent development and learning process; <p> Use of a personal vehicle; <p> Valid Drivers License.<p>The Waterloo Region District School Board is committed to equity in employment.
