Hawkeye Industries Inc. is an Edmonton, Alberta based manufacturer of oilfield equipment, focusing primarily on venting and level-indication products for above-ground tanks. We are expanding our multidisciplinary team to better serve our customers, expand into new markets and to develop innovative technologies in this competitive industry. We are looking for a *full time Human Resources Coordinator *that is a highly motivated, self-starter for our company.
The *Human Resources Coordinator *will play a key role in shaping the human resources operations and culture at Hawkeye. This position will be responsible for providing expert human resources advice, managing employee relations, ensuring compliance with employment laws and legislation. A large part of this role will be implementing human resources processes, procedures and enhancing employee experience.
*About the Role*
* Create or revise policies and processes are in place to comply with applicable laws and regulations
* Promote and support employee development and collaboration
* Monitor employee satisfaction and engagement
* Promote awareness of programs and benefits
* Review and update job descriptions to ensure clarity and completeness of roles and responsibilities
* Research and apply for grants and funding for employees and projects
* Assist in disciplinary action resolution and documentation
* Manage employee agreements including PTO, overtime, and others
* Advise on employee performance evaluation, goal setting, and compensation
* Provide full-cycle recruitment from advising on staff requirements, developing job descriptions and advertisements, sourcing candidates and conducting interviews
* Manage onboarding, orientation, training and providing guidance to supervisors and managers regarding new hire training
* Manage documentation, records and personnel files
* Manage employee programs such as benefits, training programs, health and safety programs, professional development, employee recognition programs and the social committee
* Collaborate with the Health and Safety representative to manage and administer the Health and Safety Program
* Assist with incident reporting and investigation including managing the WCB, STD and LTD claims
*About the Qualifications*
* Certificate or diploma in Human Resources Management
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Human Resources related position
* Working towards or having a CPHR designation or equivalent would be an asset
* Strong knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards
* Proficient ability to use Office Suite, M365 and Teams/SharePoint is an asset
* Excellent communication with both written and verbal
* A keen attention-to-detail with a track record of meeting deadlines, solving problems, and strong organizational skills
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and be highly motivated
* Ability to work in an interdisciplinary, group and individual environment
