Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Industrial. Manufacture. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment. Computer-aided design (CAD). Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC). Determine weldability of materials. Type of materials: Steel, iron and heavy metals. Welding techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine. Gas welding machine. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Factory assembly. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Organized. Team player.
