QUESNEL SCHOOL DISTRICT <p>NETWORK ANALYST The Quesnel School District is currently seeking applications for a Network Analyst. The successful applicant would become members of CUPE Local 4990. The Network Specialist installs, supports and maintains computer systems, networks and equipment for on and off-site operations. Provides user support, development and training for the Districts computer systems applications and report processing..<p>TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Provides technical support for the Districts Local and Wide Area Networks, including design, installation, administration and maintenance.<p>-Installs and provides diagnostic and preventative maintenance and repairs on computer hardware, related peripherals and network infrastructure.<p>-Researches, evaluates, installs, configures, troubleshoots, tests, monitors and supports district network servers, including but not limited to Application Servers, Web Servers and FTP servers.<p>-Prepares technical documentation such as instructions, procedures and user manuals.<p>-Provides technical advise to the schools and District staff as part of a team responsible for evaluation, planning, and implementation of computer technology.<p>-Assists in the assurance of data integrity and security of confidential information throughout the District, including student demographics, financial data and employee records.<p>-Analyzes security policies, issues and concerns and provides timely cost-effective solutions including firewalls, anti-virus, user rights and disaster recovery.<p>-Writes custom script applications using various programming languages.<p>-Provides direct support to District staff (administrative, teaching and support) using the most effective methods by remote desktop, email, phone or onsite visit.<p>-Provides District-wide support and administration for mission-critical software, including library automation and database software, the student information system, financial accounting and payroll, HRIS, email and communication services.<p>-Other duties as required.<p> REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, ABILITY AND SKILLS: Grade 12 or equivalent;<p> A two-year college diploma in computer technology or four (4) years equivalent industry work experience;<p> A minimum of 2 years relevant I.T. industry experience;<p> A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows servers and workstations;<p> The ability to communicate with non-technical users;<p> Ability to work both independently and as a team player;<p> A valid class 5 driver's license;<p> A clean driving record.This is an eight hour per day (7:30am to 4:00pm) position that pays $39.54 per hour and starts ASAP.<p>All applications are to include a covering letter, resume, names of at least 3 supervisory/professional references, supporting documents (e.g. confirmation of Grade 12 completion, relevant post-secondary certificates, diplomas and transcripts, certifications).
