*POSITION SUMMARY*
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position will primarily be responsible for maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and complete personnel records. This position will monitor human resources related documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance to business processes.
*WORK RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and complete personnel records
* Monitor human resources related documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance to business processes
* Maintain human resources information and related records systems in compliance with applicable legislation
* Draft memoranda, correspondence, reports, proposals, and other employment documentation
* Prepare and post notices and advertisements and schedule interviews
* Participate in selection panels to evaluate candidates as required
* Check prospective employee references
* Advise job applicants on the terms and conditions of employment
* Stay up to date on compliance requirements and industry best practices; recommend changes or modifications to existing policies and programs to remain in compliance; and adopt best practices where feasible
* Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills
* Respond to employee and government agency inquiries regarding surveys
* May be assigned a role within the Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) for Disaster Services
* Undertake other duties as assigned
*QUALIFICATIONS*
* Post-Secondary Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field
* Minimum 2 years work experience in an administrative role or similar position with preference to work in a human resources environment
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, computers and systems
* Knowledge of human resources best practices
* Knowledge of Employment Standards, the _Alberta Human Rights Act_, _Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act_, and the _Alberta Labour Code_ is preferred
* Satisfactory background screening is required for this position including a Criminal Record Check
* A Class 5 Driver?s License with a satisfactory Driver?s Abstract

*WORKING CONDITIONS*

*Hours*
Standard work week hours. May occasionally be required to address Town business on evenings or weekends.
*Physical Effort*
Office-based work performed typically includes administrative duties and varying levels of physical effort, including moderate lifting (up to 10 kgs), sitting, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, driving, carrying. Repeated motion of office tasks.
*Travel*
Some travel to field sites within and outside the Town under various road and weather conditions. Must maintain alertness and respond appropriately using defensive driving skills in various conditions (traffic, weather, distractions).
*Work Environment*
Normal office environment. Locations such as offices and facilities where emergency support services are readily available. Limited to moderate expo
