NLHealthServices.caJob SummaryReporting directly to the Provincial Senior Director Medical Services, and under the guidance of the Executive Lead - Human Capital (interim), the Director - Physician Recruitment, will be accountable for providing operational leadership, oversight and hold accountability for the Physician Recruitment and Retention teams of NL Health Services. The Director will lead the development and implementation of a provincial talent management strategy, demonstrate fiscal and resource stewardship, and champion change. The Director will work closely with other senior leaders within Provincial Medical Services and NLHS to facilitate effective lines of communication. The Director will also be responsible for building strong partnerships both provincially and nationally with specific linkages to the Department of Health and Community Services, the College of Physicians and Surgeons and the MUN's Faculty of Medicine graduate and medical residency program. .Job QualificationsEducationA bachelor's degree in business or a health-related discipline is required. A master's degree is preferred. ExperienceMinimum of five years' recent progressive management experience working in a health care management role is required.Experience in medical services and the spectrum of services related to physician recruitment. Experience in human resource management, specifically in recruitment and/or retention, is required.Significant recent experience in managing projects of a complex nature is required.Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)In-depth knowledge of the field of medical services and an understanding of the spectrum of services related to physician recruitment.Thorough knowledge of healthcare systems, and familiarity with the bylaws respecting Medical Staff, the Physician Memorandum of Agreement, and organizational policies and procedures.Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in process improvement and change management methodologies.
