Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Direct rig crew in setting up rigs and drilling, completing or servicing oil and gas exploration and producing wells
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed
  • Maintain records of drilling and servicing operations
  • Operate controls of drill or service rig drilling and hoisting machinery
  • Train or arrange for training of crew

Credentials

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses 

  • First Aid Certificate
  • Well Service Blowout Prevention Certificate
  • Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate

  • Oil and gas well drilling and well servicing
