As the Human Resources Assistant, you will work closely with the Office Manager to provide first class support to the Sovereign Dental teams and its external partners. The responsibilities of the Human Resources Assistant will include, but not be limited to, assisting in the following areas: payroll, recruitment, benefits, records management, compliance, etc. The Human Resources Assistant will successfully manage competing priorities and consistently contribute to improving the department workflows. The Human Resources Assistant will enthusiastically take on other assignments as needed to support the team!
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Support the recruitment process by assisting with managing job requisitions, conducting phone screens, scheduling interviews, etc. as needed
* Coordinate and prepare new hire onboarding
* Manage timecard administration
* Maintain payroll records relating to deductions, garnishments, etc. as needed
* Report, maintain, and reconcile government agency requests as needed
* Process employee and vendor payroll as needed
* Assist with HR programs and initiatives as needed, especially in key areas relating to recruitment, onboarding, internship programs, etc.
* Maintain and execute performance appraisal program
* Tracking the attendance of employees and their use of vacation and sick days
* Manage employee schedules
* Entering data into HR databases and keep employee records current and accurate
* Notifying employees who need continuing education or on-the-job training about upcoming classes or deadlines to renew licenses or certifications
* Schedule and chair regular management, divisional and compete team meetings
* Thorough knowledge of employment laws in Ontario
* Other work as assigned, which will include duties related to HR
*Required Qualifications:*
* At least 1 year of HR experience
* At least 1 year of experience in recruiting
* Prior experience in using an HRIS and ATS
* Outstanding interpersonal skills
* Excellent time management skills
* Ability to handle confidential information carefully and professionally
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives and responsibilities
* Understanding and experience with Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) and Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is an asset
