Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Establish and maintain contact with suppliers. Maintain adequate stock levels. Negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements with suppliers. Review requirements of establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase. Select and purchase merchandise for resale. Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories and product design events. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Merchandising and buying program or course. Computer and technology knowledge: Spreadsheet. MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS Word. Specialization/experience (business sales and services): Buying. Negotiation. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Willing to travel regularly. Valid driver's licence. Travel expenses paid by employer. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Sitting.
