We are committed to supporting you throughout your job search and every step of your career.</p><p>I am currently recruiting for one of my clients, a metallurgy company based in Ville Saint-Laurent, for an immediate opening as a Research and Development Metallurgy Engineer.</p><p>Your Role<br> <br>Reporting to the Director of R&D, you will be responsible for the following tasks: <br> <br>Conducting design, prototyping, and analysis activities for developing new diamond tools, according to the priorities established by the product committee. <br>Monitoring client needs and gathering feedback from internal sales teams and technicians to support business development. <br>Characterizing, analyzing, and designing metallic and composite materials produced through powder metallurgy. <br>Collaborating with technicians to conduct field tests on mining exploration sites to validate products according to the technical validation plan. <br>Identifying, developing, and managing R&D partnerships with companies, organizations, educational institutions, and others. <br>Keeping up to date with technological trends, patents, and competitor developments to identify new scientific directions and development opportunities. <br>Providing technical training on drilling techniques and products, in line with the training plan. <br>Participating in field technician meetings to enhance the development project portfolio and gather feedback on products and ongoing R&D projects. <br>Assisting the procurement department in qualifying critical suppliers. <br>Conducting material property studies and analyses. <br>Contributing to credit and grant application processes for development projects. <br>Supporting the production department and subcontractors in resolving manufacturing issues. <br>Assisting the quality department in analyzing internal or external non-conformities. <br>Supporting the continuous improvement department in deploying equipment impacting the manufacturing process.</p><p>Your Professional Skills <br> <br>Strong interpersonal communication <br>Analytical mindset <br>Ability to manage stress and pressure effectively <br>We are looking for a candidate with leadership, perseverance, and a passion for improving production efficiency. Our ideal candidate is personable, comfortable speaking with both operators and directors, calm under pressure, and capable of handling unexpected production shutdowns. This person should be able to confidently face challenges. <br> <br>Your Profile <br> <br>Ideally, 7 years of experience, but open to 5 years <br>Bilingual in English and French <br>University degree in materials engineering or metallurgy <br>Relevant production experience is required <br>Extensive knowledge of safety standards, with quality knowledge being an asset <br>Experience in powder metallurgy or heavy industry is required <br>Additional Details <br> <br>Permanent full-time position: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday <br>Location: Ville Saint-Laurent <br>Salary: $85k to $100k depending on experience <br>Annual bonus <br>Medical, dental, life, and travel insurance <br>Free on-site parking <br>Pension plan: Employer - 2.5% and Employee 2.5% (increasing with seniority) <br>Vacation: Minimum 3 weeks + 4 personal days (sick leave, days off) (May to April)</p>
