ASSISTANT OFFICE SUPERVISOR (E) <p>CONTINUING EDUCATION <p>Educational Services Applicants will be considered in the following order: 1) Qualified permanent ESS/OSSTF Bargaining Unit employees.<p>2) Qualified probationary, temporary and Temporary Hourly Rated (THR) ESS/OSSTF employees.<p>3) Qualified external applicants (includes employees from other Bargaining Units)Reporting to the System Administrator for the Rosemount Family of Schools, Alternative and Continuing Education, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the administrative duties related to the day-to-day operation of the Department as well as the activities of the Summer School, Choices for Youth Expulsion, U-Turn Program, Dual Credit/SWAC and New Dawn (Waterloo).<p>The successful applicant for this Educational Support Staff position Level E will be working 35 hours per week, 12 months per year, effective as soon as possible. The successful candidate will work in the Alternative and Continuing Education Department located at Alt Ed Waterloo (151 Weber St. S, Waterloo) and at a Summer School location to be determined for the full month of July.<p>Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to communicate well with the clients, students and staff, as well as flexibility are prime requisites.<p>Responsibilities: Ability to assume office supervisory responsibilities;<p> Provide administrative support to all Alternative and Continuing Education programs;<p> Maintain Aspen computer systems including; set up schools, scheduling, registration, attendance and transcript, including mark reporting, report cards and year end duties;<p> Prepare and complete OnSIS submissions;<p> Maintain and supervise the distribution, receipt and storage of Ontario Student Records (OSR) information files;<p> Assist with Supervision of part-time secretaries and provide support for Continuing Education Programs (ex. Summer School and International Language sites);<p> Establish and maintain effective public relations and communications with the clients, staff, students, program supervisors and guidance staff of WRDSB, WCDSB and private schools;<p> Support the vision, philosophy and procedures of Alternative and Continuing Education;<p> Communicate with school to update U-Turn, New Dawn (W) and Dual Credit/SWAC class lists;<p> Maintenance of marks and credits achieved for all Alternative Education Programs (including U-Turn, Choices, New Dawn (W), Dual Credit and SWAC and other programs);<p> Maintenance of U-Turn and Choices files; and<p> Other duties as assigned.<p>Qualifications: Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the administrative team of Alternative and Continuing Education;<p> A Secondary School Graduation Diploma is required;<p> Excellent computer skills and a working knowledge of Aspen, Prism, MS Office & Excel, G-Suite tools and WordPress is required;<p> Possess excellent interpersonal skills;<p> Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form, with staff, students, clients (proven ability to relate to clients both in person and on the phone);<p> Excellent organizational and time management skills, with proven ability to multi-task;<p> Knowledge of Ministry of Education OnSIS guidelines and Ontario Secondary School (OSS), Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and Secondary School Graduation Diploma (SSGD);<p> Secondary experience preferred; and<p> Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of Alternative and Continuing Education programs. <p>Applicant Self-Identification Questions<p>The information collected in Apply to Education is used to monitor WRDSBs progress toward our equity goals including our commitment to diversity in WRDSB recruitment and hiring practic
