Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Office. Industrial construction. Institutional construction. Residential construction. Commercial and/or industrial construction. Office building. Millwork shop. Tasks: Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates. Hire and supervise activities of subcontractors. Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements. Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Plan and manage budgets. Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions. Develop and implement quality control programs. Develop risk management plans. Prepare reports. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations. Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made. Area of specialization: Project management. Millwork. Cabinets. Built-in units. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines.
