(TEMPORARY) Speech Language Pathologist <p>Start Date: TBD <p>Hourly Rate: $48.88 to $54.31 per hour <p> <p>The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPR) offers a world-class education for approximately 34,000 students in 87 schools. Today, this gathering place is home to many First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples and we acknowledge the contributions and accomplishments of all Indigenous people across Turtle Island, current and through history.<p>All positions in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board support the school?s priority of student achievement and the Boards mission to educate our students to excel in learning, to succeed in life and to enrich our communities.<p>Employees demonstrate empathy and respect in all interactions, are committed to service excellence, and embrace change through innovation<p>As part of our strategy to provide on-going support for our schools, the Board is now accepting resumes from qualified applicants for the temporary position of Speech-Language Pathologist. <p>The purpose of the Speech-Language Pathologist position is to provide assessment, intervention, programming, and consultation services for students referred for speech, oral and written language, and communication difficulties, to enhance their language learning through the curriculum. Reporting to Executive Officer of Mental Health and Professional Services.<p> <p>Main Responsibilities: <p><p> To provide formal and informal assessment and consultation support for students with communication difficulties involving speaking, listening, reading and/or writing. This includes:<p><p><p> To provide formal and informal Language Assessments (oral and written language), consultation support for Complex Communication Needs, Speech Assessments, and Mild Speech Home Programming Support<p><p><p> To recommend and provide follow up consultation support of Specialized Equipment through SEA funding for reading, writing and Augmentative Communication needs<p><p><p> To share assessment results, recommendations and program modifications with appropriate staff, parents, and professionals.<p><p><p> To consult with the school team, Professional Services, and parents regarding speech and language programming, resources, accommodations and modifications that have been recommended.<p><p><p> To provide Tier 1 (whole classroom based programming), Tier 2 (targeted small group), Tier 3 (individual) levels of support.<p><p><p> To act as a resource to the Multi-Focus Team to support student?s needs through consultation.<p><p><p> To support the development of Individual Education Plans.<p><p><p> To supervise Communicative Disorders Assistants who support staff with the implementation of recommended interventions, strategies, programming, and SEA equipment for Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices<p><p><p> To liaise with and refer to community services and agencies such as School-Based Rehabilitation Services and assist in the transition of new students from Preschool Services.<p><p><p> To provide Professional Development workshops and board wide resources to meet identified needs of KPRDSB staff.<p><p><p> Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Officer of Mental Health and Professional Services and as required for college certification<p> <p> <p><p>Supervision: <p><p> Supervision of Communicative Disorders Assistants<p><p><p> May plan, assign, monitor and support the work of interns and practicum students.<p><p><p><p>Main Contracts: <p><p><p> Internal: students, school- LocationPeterborough, ON
