Job Description Licensed Practical Nurse Temporary Full-Time Location: John M Grey - St Anthony, NL (PCN 55160RP1)About the RoleThe primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of care to residents of the John M Gray Long Term Care Centre. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing safe, competent and ethical nursing care while working within their scope. The LPN is responsible to maintain professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the LGH Model of Nursing Clinical Care and reports to the Resident Care Manager. Qualifications:" Graduation from high school or equivalency;" Successful completion of an approved LPN education program;" Current registration with the Council for Licensed Practical Nurses (Nfld. & Labrador);" Knowledge of computer skills and an ability to work with Meditech is an asset; " Breastfeeding education or willingness to complete within specified timeframe;" Current certification in BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support);" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.Duties: (Included but not limited to)" Provide safe, competent and ethical nursing care and make decisions within the LPN scope of Practice;" Participates in development, revision, implementation and evaluation of nursing care plans;" Complete Nursing assessment consistent with scope of practice" Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate resident plan of care;" Practices independently according to professional and organizational standards" Documents according to professional and organizational standards;" Maintain competency and update knowledge by availing of educational opportunities;" Participates in quality assurance/improvement activities;" Represents nursing on various committees such as unit council and other communities as deemed necessary;" Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary team;" Keep current with changes by monitoring communications (i.e. verbal, e-mail, communication book, etc.);" Administer Medications;" You may be required to float to different units as required" Other related duties as required;Financial incentives that may be available, and can be combined, include:" Student Bursaries up to $5,000" Long-Term Care Recruitment Bonus of $4,300 " Labrador Grenfell Sign On Bonus up to $16,000 " Possible Relocation assistance and support A Return in Service is required to avail of incentives.Salary: " CGHSL29 of the NAPE-HS salary scales $29.62 to $32.62 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.Hours of Work:" 75 hours Bi-weekly; variable shifts.Interested applicants please submit resume, stating competition number 2024000692S, to:Human Resources DepartmentNLHS-Labrador-Grenfell ZoneSt. Anthony, NL A0K 4S0Tel: 709-454-0347Apply online at https://www.careers.lghealth.ca/ Posting Date: August 28, 2024Open Until FilledCC: NAPE HS "If this is an internal posting only, only applicants of the Labrador Grenfell Zone NAPE HS Regional Bargaining Unit will be considered.
