As a vertically integrated company, we design, develop and manufacture our product portfolio of over 20,000 items.<br>In Montreal since 2014, Thorlabs Canada ULC now has 60 employees and focuses on the development and production of a wide range of fiber-based optical components for next-generation imaging devices and advanced instrumentation. We also machine a wide range of products using femtosecond lasers.<br><br></p><p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician - Evening Shift</strong></span></p><p><span><strong>What we offer<br></strong></span>A permanent, full-time position (40h), Monday to Friday, evening shift (3.00pm - 11.30pm)<br>Salary according to experience + 10% evening bonus<br>Paid vacations and sick days from the first year onwards<br>Group insurance (medical, dental, life, long-term disability) and a retirement plan with employer contributions (RRSP+DPSP) after 3 months<br>A seniority recognition program<br>Free on-site parking<strong><br><br><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Responsibilities</span></strong></p><ul><li>Manufacture fused optical structures.</li><li>Record manufacturing data in the database.</li><li>Participate in the development and improvement of new products and processes.</li><li>Document parameters related to the manufacture of optical structures.</li><li>Carry out small and medium-scale improvement projects (process, equipment).</li></ul><p></p> <br> <p><strong>Qualifications or Skills</strong></p><p><em>Required</em>:</p><ul><li>Experience in the manufacturing sector</li><li>Ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail.</li><li>Autonomy and initiative.</li><li>Attention to detail, manual and visual dexterity, mechanical ability.</li><li>Time management, sense of priorities, efficiency and quality of work.</li></ul><p><em>Desirable</em>:</p><ul><li>Education: College diploma in photonics, physical technology or equivalent, or relevant experience.</li><li>Knowledge of optical equipment and handling of optical fibers.</li><li>Ability to use microscope, optical spectrum analyzer (OSA), fuser and laser source.</li><li>Ability to work with basic chemicals (isopropanol, acetone).</li><li>Ability to use a database.</li><li>Knowledge of manufacturing software.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).</li></ul>
