*Job Description*
We are looking for a Financial Accountant who will be responsible for overseeing our financial statements, management reporting (MFR), and contributing to annual internal and external every year auditing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and auditing practices to the financial services industry in Canada.
*Key Responsibilities*
* *Financial Statement Preparation: *Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with CIRO regulations.
* *Management Reporting (MFR): *Compile and analyze Management Financial Reports to provide insights into the company's financial performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
* *Financial Analysis*: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify key performance indicators, variances, and opportunities for optimization. Provide recommendations to senior management based on analysis findings.
* *Budgeting and Forecasting*: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis reports.
* *Internal Controls*: Maintain and enhance internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
* *Audit Support*: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and regulatory examinations. Prepare necessary schedules and documentation to support audit procedures.
* *Process Improvement*: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the finance department to increase efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor?s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. *CPA *designation is required.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within the *financial industry*.
* Experience in financial statement preparation and analysis.
* Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Mandarin and English is an asset.
* Canada Accounting Standards, CIRO regulations, and auditing experience is an asset.
* Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and integrity.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
