Look no further! *What we offer?* * Monday to Friday daytime with option to work evenings and weekends * Opportunity to learn, grow, and develop * Health and dental benefit plan * On-site parking * Paid time off with a bonus paid time off in late December * Competitive compensation commensurate with experience *The Ottawa Cardiovascular Centre is currently recruiting for the position of Cardiac Sonographer.* The Ottawa Cardiovascular Centre offers comprehensive cardiovascular care to a registered patient population of over 250,000 patients with approximately 50,000 active patients. Our main office comprises 6 echocardiography labs and 2 stress echo labs, while our satellite office comprises 2 echocardiography labs. *Ottawa Cardiovascular Centre Echocardiography MISSION:* The Mission of the Echocardiography Laboratory of the Ottawa Cardiovascular Centre is to provide a high quality diagnostic cardiac ultrasound for those suffering from acute and chronic cardiovascular disease. *Ottawa Cardiovascular Centre GOALS:* To provide accurate diagnosis and assessment of cardiac conditions using state of the art equipment. To provide rapid access to cardiac ultrasound testing and provide reports to referring physicians in a timely manner. To provide the best level of service to our patients and referral base conducted by caring, knowledgeable professionals. To maintain the highest level of professionalism when interacting with our patients. To provide a safe and welcoming working environment for our employees. *Position Summary:* Reporting to the Echocardiography Lab Manager, the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS) performs all Cardiac ultrasound according to the Standards of Practice, and is responsible to ensure quality patient care is provided. *Required:* * Current credentialed member of Sonography Canada * Current member and in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) * Graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program * Possess valid liability insurance as defined by the CMRITO * Must be available to work at both locations as per the needs of the clinic and clinic demands * Experience in Stress Echocardiography (or willingness to be trained) * IV insertion certification * Must be able to communicate effectively in English (French speaking is an asset) * Initiative, organizational and decision-making skills are essential * Must have a team-based approach *Duties:* * Performs Cardiac ultrasound imaging according to the Standards of Practice * Uses Image-Enhancing Contrast Agents when required * Communicate with physicians unusual or inconsistent findings during a procedure * Write effective preliminary reports for the cardiologist * Responsible for the daily upkeep and cleaning of equipment * Ensure adequate level of product and supplies to support daily operations * Archive and retrieve data to and from PACS/EMR * Report equipment deficiencies to Echocardiography Lab Manager * Instructs students during clinical rotation when required * Assists in the orientation and training of new Sonographers * Demonstrate willingness to participate in quality improvement * Participates in continuing education to increase professional growth and development * Performs other duties as assigned from time to time Utilize your expertise to perform echocardiograms with precision.
