Role: Senior Construction Estimator Reporting to: Director, Sales and Field Operations Direct Reports: Junior Estimator Work Location: On-site 40%, Remote 60% Salary: $62,400.00/ year plus Bonus Payout: Weekly Deliverables: Weekly Benefits, Comprehensive: Vehicle Allowance Dental & Vision Life Disability Critical Illness Extended Health - Drugs - Major Medical Coinsurance The Senior Construction Estimator role is an exciting forward thinking position that covers all aspects of pre-construction. With a focus on the client, you will help ensure Caledon Renovations is at the forefront of clear and transparent pricing to our clients, management teams and field operations. A detailed list of deliverables will be available during the application process and we will make every available accomodation, working with you to ensure that we are a good fit for each other. Primary functions will include: Sales - 40% 12 - 16 Hours Developing a rapport with clients, consultants, and sub trades Maintaining and updating book of client contact details Submitting proposals, RFIs and RFQs Maintaining accurate and timely notes Presenting weekly/ monthly internal reports Estimating - 40% 12 - 16 Hours Maintaining and updating book of supplier and sub trade contact details Converting client project information into accurate, actionable scope of work Reading drawings and blueprints and producing quantity take-offs Communicating the relevant information to vendors and trades for pricing Prepare detailed quotations, project schedules and bid packages Procurement - 10% 3 - 4 Hours Maintaining accurate database of pricing for material and labour rates Confirming pricing and availability with suppliers and trade vendors Placing purchase orders, confirming delivery schedules and quantities Back Pricing - 10% 3 - 4 Hours Comparing estimate budgets to completed actual costs Identify supplier and trade vendor risks based on quality, time and cost metrics Report findings to internal teams More about the position: A success mindset is essential for this position as you will be a subject matter expert and a point of contact for field operations and project management teams. The role will cover the following aspects of construction and you will become proficient through ongoing training and education: General contracting, Demolition and excavation, Electrical, plumbing and mechanical, Design and engineering, Financial reporting. The role has direct contact with Field Operations, Project Management, Accounting and HR. In addition to completing all responsibilities on a weekly basis in a timely manner, the role requires focus on the following general concepts: Automating manual and tedious tasks to free up time, Document and improve company processes, Develop systems to improve workflow. The successful applicant MUST: Have excellent interpersonal skills, Have daily access to a vehicle, Ability to communicate directly with clients, vendors and internal teams, Have very strong organizational skills, comfortable working under tight deadlines.
