*The Role*
The successful candidate will work from the St. John?s office with the Senior leadership team and report to the Controller.
*Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:*
- Supervision and support for the accounting team which includes job costing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions.
- Reconciliation of subcontractor invoices/contracts and posting of subcontractor invoices.
- Preparation and payment of payment certificates to subcontractors.
- Preparation and posting of monthly progress bills to clients based upon direction from project managers.
- Management of all banking and investment related activities.
- Preparation of payroll, payroll remittances, ROEs, T4s, etc.
- Preparation and payment of HST returns.
- Reconciliation and payment of petty cashes and credit card statements.
- Management of accounting for other related companies.
- Ensure operational and internal controls are operating effectively.
- Other duties as assigned.
*The Requirements*
- Professional accounting designation.
- Minimum 5 years? relevant experience in accounting/finance, preferably in a construction environment.
- Experience managing/supervising a team.
- Experience in job costing software (Jonas preferred) and construction management software (Procore preferred) is considered an asset.
- Strong work ethic with a relentless drive to fulfill commitments.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Possess a strong proficiency with computers and software tools.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
