*Heavy Duty Mechanic* Chapman Sand & Gravel ? Armstrong, BC *Overview* Chapman Sand and Gravel is a growing company that has been in operation in the Okanagan for over 20 years. We are proud to be one of the largest producers and suppliers of aggregate in the Okanagan. We have a full range of equipment from gravel trucks and trailers to heavy duty civil construction equipment. Repairs and maintenance will be done locally at our facilities or on-site as needed. A full service truck will be provided. We are committed to our employees? safety and to environmental stewardship. We are searching for a *Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic *to join our hardworking crew here in the Okanagan. The ideal candidate must have 5+ years of experience working on heavy duty equipment, as well as · A Red Seal Journeyman Certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician · A complete set of personal tools · An eye for detail · Good communication skills · Great work ethic and attitude · Attention to safety standards Wage will be based upon experience. \*\*Please note that we are not accepting out-of-country resumes at this time *Responsibilities* · Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, etc. issues on a variety of company equipment (excavators, loaders, rock trucks, drills, etc.) · Clean, lubricate, and service equipment · Assist with other duties as required · Maintain maintenance logs · Communicate effectively with others · Work with minimal supervision · Work well with others · Adhere to WorkSafe BC regulations *Education & Experience:* · Must have a minimum 5 years of experience working on heavy duty equipment · Must hold a Red Seal Certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician · Must hold a valid Class 5 Driver?s Licence · Must have a clean driving record · Welding skills is an asset · Must have computer skills *Physical Demands:* · Lifting around 50-60 lbs · Climbing on and off equipment · Working in varying temperatures and weather conditions *Work Environment:* · Working mainly outdoors in all seasons · Working in an active yard around heavy equipment · Exposure to dust and loud noises Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From $35.00 per hour Additional pay: * Overtime pay Benefits: * Dental care * Disability insurance * Extended health care * Life insurance * On-site parking * Vision care Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Monday to Friday * Overtime * Weekends as needed Ability to commute/relocate: * Armstrong, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Experience: * Heavy Equipment Repair: 5 years (required) Licence/Certification: * Red Seal Certification (required) * Class 5 Licence (required) Work Location: In person- LocationArmstrong, BC
