Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Home care and visiting care agency. Hospital or home for the aged. Nursing home/home for the aged. Rehabilitation centre and special health institution. Tasks: Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities. Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up and assembling of medical equipment. Assist with maintenance and repair of medical equipment. Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort. Perform other duties related to personal care. Supply and empty bed pans. Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse. Serve meal trays and feed patients. Weigh, lift, turn and position patients. Deliver messages, reports, requisitions and specimens between departments. Make beds and maintain patients' rooms. Supervise patients' exercise routines. Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas. Bathe, dress and groom patients. Transport patients between care facilities. Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher. Answer call signals to determine patients' needs. Collect specimens. Administer first aid in emergency situations. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : CPR Certificate. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year. Support for newcomers and refugees: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees. Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) . Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees . Support for youths: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment. Support for Veterans: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Veterans . Support for Indigenous people: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers . Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations . Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers . Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers . Support for mature workers: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports mature workers . Supports for visible minorities: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports members of visible minorities. Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities (for example: anonymizing the hiring process, etc.). Offers mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.
