We are seeking a creative, dynamic, committed professional to join our team: <p>Office Assistant - Alternate Program <p>Richard Pfaff Secondary Alternate Program Position Status: 100% Regular, works 10.5 months per year<p>Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; 17.5 hours per week<p>Salary Rate: $21.98 to $27.52 per hour<p>Effective:November 1, 2024Under the direction of the Principal/Program Coordinator, the Office Assistant provides clerical and secretarial support to academic staff; assists students, staff and public; maintains student and staff information records; supports the school office and maintains budget transactions. Assignment includes extensive Aspen. <p> Qualifications <p> Completion of secondary school and 1 to 2 years of related office experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.<p> Knowledge of relevant Board policies, procedures, Acts and Regulations, and Ministry of Education guidelines. Secretarial and clerical procedures. <p> Knowledge of computer applications, including proficiency in relevant word processing, database, spreadsheet applications. <p> Committed to the Program's philosophy of building student success in a non-traditional school setting. <p> Interpersonal and communication skills to exchange, clarify and provide information, and respond to inquiries/requests from a variety of sources. <p> Ability to use tact, diplomacy, discretion when communicating with others, inside and outside the organization. <p> Keyboarding skills (speed of 50 wpm) in order to prepare correspondence and other documents.<p> Coping skills to deal with high-risk students and their parents/guardian in a sensitive manner.<p> Initiative and judgement skills required to action routine matters. <p> Organization and time management skills required to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet established deadlines. <p> Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision. <p> Ability to use fax, printer, photocopier, electronic and voice mail system.<p>Although not a requirement, completion of one or more of the following courses would be beneficial to this position: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Suicide Intervention, Clinical Orientation to Addiction Problems, and CPR/First Aid in order to support the teaching staff with non-academic activities and the high risk student population. <p> Application Process Applications will be considered in accordance with the ESP Collective Agreement, in the following order: 1.
