Aggregate data will be stored anonymously to support improvements to the Boards hiring processes.General Description of Duties: To assist with the administrative duties of the school on a daily basis.<p> Responsible for answering phones, opening and distributing mail and assisting students with their needs.<p> Perform receptionist duties such as receiving and directing visitors, receiving and placing telephone calls, distributing mail/couriers/faxes/emails, recording and distributing messages, signing for material delivered or services rendered, responding to inquiries where directed by the principal, scheduling meetings and appointments.<p> Provide break coverage and support to other admin assistants in the school.<p> Provide clerical support to the guidance and Student Administrative System (SAS) areas as needed.<p> Operate, maintain and update the Aspen System and use the Aspen System for attendance purposes, recording new information, creating school reports and registrations.<p> Compile, maintain and file confidential records such as Ontario Student Records (O.S.R.), budget records, staff and student absenteeism, requisitions and reports.<p> Photocopy and distribute correspondence and reports such as letters to parents, monthly newsletters, memos, monthly reports and confidential records.<p> Maintain office and school supplies.<p> Operate general office equipment such as photocopiers, fax machines, PA system and computers.<p> Facilitate student attendance procedures<p> Perform other duties as assigned.<p> Minimum Requirements: Two year College Diploma in Office Adminsitration or Business Administration.<p> 1-2 years similar work experience.<p> Proficiency in computer applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Powerpoint.<p> Possess organization and multi-tasking skills in a busy work environment.<p> Ability to work and communicate effectively in an office environment with frequent interruptions and deadlines.<p> Knowledge of Board and Ministry policies and procedures (an asset). Hourly Rate: $27.95 to $29.39 per hour<p>Hours of Work: Half-time, 17.5 hours per week<p>11:15 am 2:45 pm (Unless otherwise informed by the Administrator)<p>Location: St. David CSS, Waterloo, ON<p>**this position is on loan from St. Marys CSS, Kitchener and may be redeployed back to St. Marys in future school years depending on system need.
