Aggregate data will be stored anonymously to support improvements to the Boards hiring processes.General Description of Duties: <p>Child and Youth Care Workers (CYCW) work directly with students who are experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioural needs. In collaboration with school and Board personnel, the needs of the students are assessed and appropriate intervention plans are created, implemented and supported. The CYCW may also be withdrawn from their regular assignment at one or more of their regular schools for an extended period of time to provide intensive support for a student in crisis as agreed between the school Administrator and the Learning Services department. The CYCW delivers programs in the areas of: bullying prevention, self-esteem, social skills, conflict resolution, emotion management, etc., in either 1:1 or small group settings, and on occasion in a classwide program. The CYCW liaises with school staff, parents and community agencies to best support the child. Minimum Requirements: Child and Youth Care Worker Diploma (3 year) or equivalent.<p> Minimum 2 years similar work experience.<p> BMS (Behavioural Management System) is a definite asset.<p> Courses related to understanding autism.<p> First Aid Certificate is a definite asset.<p> Experience supporting students with autism and/or behavioural difficulties.<p> Experience using data to understand behaviour.<p> Have a reliable vehicle and a valid Ontario drivers license as travel throughout the Waterloo Region may be required.<p>Hourly Rate: $34.93 to $36.76 per hourHours of Work: Permanent Full-time, 40 hours per week<p> Work schedule determined by the SupervisorWeeks/Year: Approximately 41 weeks/yearLocation: To Be Determined<p> (Assigned to where the student needs are in the system)Effective Date: ASAPApplications will be considered in the following order:<p> Qualified permanent CUPE Bargaining Unit employees, with seniority.<p> Qualified probationary and temporary CUPE employees, including employees in other Bargaining Units/Associations. <p>Qualified applicants are invited to submit a resume and covering letter.
