<p><strong>Be part of a dynamic team!<br><br></strong>Under the direction of the Municipal Infrastructure Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the development of projects related to the Public Works Department concerning requests under the Planning Act. The incumbent will also be responsible for reviewing various plans and technical reports such as hydrogeological, transportation and stormwater management studies, as well as project management related to the Corporation's municipal infrastructure.<strong><br> <br>Closing date: October 17, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.</strong></p> <br> <ul><li>Thorough knowledge of general principles and theories of municipal engineering, as well as construction processes and techniques related to public works services, as acquired through a university degree in civil engineering.</li><li>Proven work experience (minimum 3 years) in civil engineering would be an asset.</li><li>Member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario (P.Eng.), or in the process of becoming one.</li><li>Thorough knowledge of hydrogeology, including groundwater quality, regional flow systems and</li><li>groundwater-surface water interactions, would be an asset.</li><li>Knowledge of current practices related to groundwater monitoring, sampling and data analysis would be an asset.</li><li>Experience in reviewing road infrastructure development projects.</li><li>Good knowledge and understanding of the Planning Act and any other regulations and laws applicable to the department.</li><li>Ability to manage road infrastructure construction projects, with particular attention to quality, deadlines and budgets.</li><li>Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Knowledge and ability to interpret and administer a multitude of regulations, laws, contractual agreements, policies and directives pertaining to the Public Works Department.</li><li>Knowledge and ability to interpret various engineering plans and surveys.</li><li>Ability to undertake research at the Land Registry Office.</li><li>Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in both official languages to provide advice and guidance to staff, to inform the general public, and to maintain contacts with contractors and outside agencies.</li><li>Ability to work well with administration, staff, elected officials and the general public.</li><li>Experience with computers is necessary.</li></ul><p><strong><em>A criminal record check must be provided upon hiring only (dated no longer than three months prior to the date when it has been requested)</em><em> and is a condition of employment.</em></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p>
