Education: Bachelor's degree. Mechanical engineering. Mechanical engineering/mechanical technology/technician. Mechanical drafting and mechanical drafting CAD/CADD. Work setting: Urban area. Consulting firm. Engineering firm. Consulting engineering company. Tasks: Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanisms, components and systems. Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs. Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for machinery and systems. Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial construction or maintenance. Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates. Assess business opportunities and develop strategies. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AutoCAD Certification. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Certified Engineering Technologist (CET). Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. Autodesk REVIT. Instrument experience: Mechanical. Area of work experience: Operations or production. Design. Area of specialization: Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Fire protection. Drafting. Mechanical system. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence.
