Position Title: University Photographer & VideographerDepartment: Marketing and CommunicationsPosition Type: Regular Full-TimeClassification: NSGEU Band 5Salary Range: $45,298-55,770 (based on 37.5 hours/week)Posting Date: September 24, 2024Closing Date: October 11, 2024OverviewReporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, the University Photographer/Videographer will lead the planning, production and capture of photographic and video content that conveys the StFX narrative in an authentic, captivating and memorable way. From event coverage to creating compelling content for prospective students, the University Photographer/Videographer performs a vital role in advancing the university's brand and reputation.The nature of the work may require the Incumbent to work non-standard hours which includes evenings and weekends.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and execute high-quality photo and video projects for various StFX events, recruitment efforts, fundraising campaigns, and other university initiativesWork closely with key departments, including Advancement, Recruitment, and the President's Office, to understand their multimedia needsCollaborate on content strategies that support the university's brand and strategic objectives, developing compelling visual stories that resonate with diverse audiencesLead the creative direction of all photo and video projects, translating client objectives into engaging, visual narrativesDevelop and manage production schedules, including detailed workback schedules, to ensure that projects meet deadlines and are delivered on timeDemonstrate proficiency with a wide range of photo and video equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and audio recording toolsDevelop and maintain a comprehensive digital archive of all university multimedia assetEnsure that all photos and video footage are edited and curated promptly after each project, aligning with the specific deadlines set by internal clientsRecruit, train and manage a team of student photographers and videographers.
