The New Brunswick Teachers' Federation (NBTF), the union representing 9,000 public school teachers in New Brunswick, is seeking a qualified and dynamic individual for the position of Labour Relations Officer.Key Responsibilities:Provide expert advice and guidance to members on the interpretation and application of the Collective Agreement, including grievance procedures in cases of alleged violations.Represent members throughout the disciplinary process, ensuring fair treatment and adherence to established policies.Offer comprehensive guidance on provincial policies related to working conditions.Conduct research on legal matters and serve as the primary liaison with our legal counsel.Develop and deliver professional development sessions and in-service training on relevant topics.Attend and contribute to all meetings of the Federation's Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.Perform other tasks as assigned by the NBTF Executive Director.Required Qualifications:Must possess a degree in lawDemonstrate knowledge and experience in labour relations within a unionized environment.Preferred Skills and Attributes:Strong organizational abilities with a high degree of autonomy.Proven ability to work collaboratively with a team, coupled with strong leadership skills.Excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, negotiation, and presentation skills.Proficiency in both official languages (English and French), with strong oral and written communication skills.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
