Job Description Personal Care AttendantTemporary Full TimeLocation: Long-Term Centre, HVGB55194RPIThe primary purpose of this position is to work as a member of a nursing team under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse providing a high standard of care to patients at the Long Term Care and in accordance with the LGH Model of Nursing Clinical Practice. The employee is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for clients, families, co-workers and themselves and reports to the Resident Care Manager.Qualifications:" Graduation from High School or equivalency;" Successful completion from a recognized Personal Care Program of equivalent;" Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);" Breastfeeding education or willingness to complete within specified timeframe." The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.Duties: (Included but not limited to)" Providing nursing care to patients" Responds to emergency and situation and codes;" Assist with the orientation of new staff" Documents according to organizational policies and unit guidelines;" Participates in quality assurance/improvement activities;" Transports clients and specimens" Other related duties as required.Financial incentives that may be available, and can be combined, include:" Student Bursaries up to $5,000" Long-Term Care Recruitment Bonus of $4,300 " Labrador Grenfell Sign On Bonus up to $16,000 " Possible Relocation assistance and support " A Return in Service is required to avail of incentives.
