The Association for New Canadians is a non-profit, community based organization dedicated to the provision of settlement and integration services for immigrants and refugees.Job Title: Associate Director of Programs and ResearchLocation: St. John's, NLPosition Type: 1 full-time positionClosing Date: The position will remain open until filledReporting to the Executive Director, the Associate Director of Programs and Research is a critical member of the executive leadership team. This role encompasses broad responsibility, including overseeing the strategic development and evaluation of client service programs, securing new funding sources, and providing oversight for research initiatives within the organization. The role will also be accountable for stakeholder relationships with Federal and Provincial funders, as well as local and national partnerships. The expertise of the Associate Director of Programs and Research in program management, research, and data-driven decision-making will be crucial in driving impactful newcomer-focused initiatives, and ensuring compliance with funder contribution agreements and financial constraints in collaboration with program delivery teams.Role and ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of new programs that align with the organization's mission and strategic goals, addressing evolving newcomer community needs and program improvementsProvide oversight on the organization's contribution agreements to ensure compliance, including the management of financial expendituresIdentify and pursue new funding opportunities, and lead the development and submission of high-quality proposals that highlight the organization's social impactsCollaborate with program leads to oversee the timely completion/submission of narrative and data funder reports; monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year-endGather qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate program outcomes, identify best practices, and inform continuous improvementBuild strong relationships with government representatives, funding partners, community and other key stakeholders locally, provincially, and nationally focused on advancing the vision of the AssociationSupport or act on behalf of the Executive Director on local, provincial, and national committees, and media relations, and act as liaison with community partnersStay informed of emerging trends, research, and best practices in program development and community services to drive innovation and improvement in our offeringsOversee and research activities that broaden the local knowledge base related to immigration, refugees, multiculturalism, etc. at the local, provincial, regional, and/or federal levelDevelop position briefs for a variety of audiences including government, community organizations, and other stakeholdersParticipate in organizational planning sessions with the senior management team and collaborate on setting the division's work plans as it relates to contribution agreementsParticipate in the development of the organisation's strategic planQualifications and ExperienceDegree in fields such as Social Sciences, Business, Public Administration or a related combinationExtensive experience in proposal writing, with a demonstrated ability to create compelling and persuasive documents with attention to funder regulations and guidelinesExperienced program manager specifically in monitoring multiple programs simultaneously, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomesSolid track record of successfully leading complex projects and initiatives that align with organizational goals and the needs of clientsProven experience in managing relationships at a senior level with government, partner organizations, and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment across all divisionsStrategic leadership skills along with highly developed analytical thinking and decision-making to advance the mission of the organizationExperience in collaborating on or leading research initi
