*Job Overview*:
As we continue to expand, we are introducing Language Arts programs and are actively seeking a passionate and engaging *Public Speaking Teacher* to join our dynamic and innovative team.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Teacher with an OCT certificate who has a strong background in communication, speech, and rhetoric; and will be instrumental in helping our students develop confidence, public speaking & presentation skills, and effective communication techniques, providing them with the tools they need for lifelong success.
*Responsibilities*:
* Teach public speaking to students in Grades 4 to 7, focusing on speech writing, delivery techniques, audience engagement, and the effective use of visual aids.
* Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that incorporate a variety of public speaking formats, such as informative speeches, persuasive speeches, debates, and impromptu speaking, tailored to diverse learning styles and abilities.
* Provide individualized coaching and constructive feedback on both verbal and non-verbal communication to help students refine their presentation skills.
* Facilitate interactive activities to help students overcome stage fright, improve their ability to think on their feet, and build confidence in public speaking.
* Develop students' confidence, articulation, and persuasive communication skills, encouraging clear and assertive expression of ideas.
* Promote critical thinking, creativity, and self-expression in a safe, supportive classroom environment where students feel comfortable practicing and improving their speaking abilities.
* Collaborate with colleagues to integrate public speaking into broader learning experiences, ensuring a comprehensive approach to student development.
* Regularly evaluate student progress and communicate updates to parents/guardians.
* Organize presentations, performances, and competitions to provide students with real-world speaking opportunities.
*Qualification*:
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in Education, English, Communication, or a related field (required)
* Teaching experience: 1 year (required)
* Strong proficiency in English language
* Effective classroom management skills
* OCT certificate (highly preferred)
* Previous experience teaching public speaking, or communication courses (highly preferred)
* Experience working with mid-elementary or junior-high students (preferred)
*Schedule*:
* Saturday *or *Sunday, 8 hours per day (can be discussed)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per week
Additional pay:
* Bonus pay
