*Job Summary:*
Under the direction of the Senior Executive of Operations, the Industrial Electrician carries out planned and emergency maintenance and is responsible for a wide variety of electrical work, as it applies to maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of specialized health supplemental manufacturing equipment. The Industrial Electrician is required to support operations while adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Health Canada regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP?s).
*Essential Functions:*
· Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical systems and equipment, including lighting, power distribution, control panels, and machinery.
· Troubleshoot electrical systems and machinery to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production processes while remaining in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
· Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical components and systems.
· Collaborate with the production, facility, maintenance, regulatory teams to ensure all electrical systems are safe and operations.
· Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and electrical systems as needed.
· Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance and repairs.
· Respond to emergency electrical issues during production hours to minimize disruptions.
· Support energy efficient initiatives and suggest improvements to electrical systems for sustainability.
· Respond to calls, take corrective action; this includes trouble shooting problems on a wide variety of systems sometimes difficult to identify, solutions not standard. Priorities are established by assessing the impact on operations.
· Establish priorities and requirements on multiple systems which are interconnected, as per the Preventative Maintenance Plan; duties include printing of schedules, inspecting, identifying deficiencies and taking corrective action.
· Estimate labor and materials for renovations, upgrades and projects, including reviewing project drawings, sketches, and specifications and making recommendations for improvements.
· Communicate with individuals from a variety of departments within the company, and external contractors brought in to work on systems, describing problems and explaining the interrelation of complex systems.
· Coordinate and monitor the work of contractors to ensure adherence to established standards
· Make recommendations and suggestions for improvement on various projects.
· Continually learn about advances in system and equipment design, advancing technology through communicating with local suppliers, on the job training, adapting older systems to work with new components and parts.
· Stay current on new technology and regulatory requirements including changes to standards and codes related to the profession.
· Prepare drawing, sketches, layout diagrams, and estimates for internal projects and work required.
· Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and the Canadian Electrical Code. Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for serviceability
· Adhere to promoting safety standards required by regulatory bodies consistent with the assigned work. Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
· Maintain an inventory of electrical supplies.
· Prepare work orders and purchase requisitions; maintaining records of work performed and completing work control forms.
· Maintain fire alarm and communication systems by performing routine inspections; installation of new components, identifying, isolating and repairing faults; participating in fire alarm testing, and preparing and updating procedures to related systems.
· Undertake related duties, as assigned consistent with the job grade of this position.
