<p>The NNDSB invites applications from for the following LTO position commencing as soon as possible until December 20, 2024 or the return of the teacher. Position: Intermediate (Grades 7-10) Board-Based Math Facilitator Role and Responsibilities: <p>The Intermediate Board-Based Math Facilitator will act as a member of the K-12 Program Team, supporting intermediate math teachers through classroom embedded professional learning, instructional supports, and school/system monitoring. This position will work in partnership with the system K-12 Math Coordinator and Math Lead and support key priorities of the Math Achievement Action Plan to: Strengthen educator content knowledge to support the effective implementation of the elementary math curriculum (focus on Grades 7 and 8), the de-streamed Grade 9 math course, and fundamental math concepts and skills;<p> Improve educator confidence in applying high-impact instructional and assessment practices;<p> Develop educator ability to identify gaps in student learning and provide interventions to increase the performance, confidence and engagement of all students, including students facing systemic barriers in their math learning (e.g., Indigenous students, Black students and students living in low-income households, and students with disabilities and special education needs);<p> Enhance educator ability to support successful transitions between grades, with a specific focus on the intermediate grades;<p> Advance leadership in elementary and secondary schools to eliminate disparities in outcomes and support culture shifts so all students can be successful in math; and,<p> Increase parent engagement and providing families with tools and resources to support math learning at home. Required Teaching Qualifications: A valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate<p> A valid Certification of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers Intermediate Qualifications<p> Additional Qualification in Math (Math Specialist preferred) Position Criteria: Strong qualifications in mathematics and will have demonstrated effective instructional and assessment practices in the Intermediate divisions;<p> Exceptional leadership and facilitation skills;<p> Experience in supporting students with special education needs in mathematics; <p> Experience supporting school improvement planning, implementation and monitoring;<p> A developed understanding of the priorities and objectives of the Math Achievement Action Plan <p> Proven ability to work collaboratively with administrators, educators, families and community/education partners;<p> Effective outreach strategies to ensure parent awareness and engagement in math learning;<p> A valid drivers license and willingness to travel across the district. <p>Interested Candidates: Please apply using ApplytoEducation by clicking the Apply Online button below.
