*Job Summary*
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric or school aged settings. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, literacy, and communication disorders, ensuring high-quality patient care in a private practice care environment. As a member of our team, you must be passionate about any areas of: pediatric speech sound disorders, feeding/swallowing, reading and literacy, social language or speech and language.
*Responsibilities*
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech and language abilities in patients of all ages, particularly focusing on pediatric cases.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and facilitate effective patient care.
- Collaborate with team to provide optimal care and case management for patients.
- Educate patients and their families about speech disorders, orofacial myofunctional disorders and the therapeutic process.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with college policies.
- Stay updated on best practices in speech-language pathology through continuous education and professional development.
*Requirements*
- Master?s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current provincial licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to speech-language pathology.
- Experience working in a preschool, school or hospital setting, particularly within pediatrics, is preferred.
- Innovation and creativity.
- Strong case management skills with the ability to coordinate care effectively among various healthcare providers.
- Knowledge of pediatric care environments and the specific challenges faced by patients requiring speech therapy or reading therapy
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a compassionate approach to patient interactions.
