<p>Position Description <p>A temporary part time (0.4) Reading Recovery Teacher is required by School District No. 60 (Peace River North) effective September 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. The assignment will be at Charlie Lake School.<p><p><p>Charlie Lake Elementary is a semi-rural school situated 10 minutes from the community of Fort St. John. We enroll a population of 320 students. For more information visit our website www.charlie.prn.bc.ca and or our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SD60CL/?fref=ts<p> <p>Qualifications and Experience <p><p> Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for)<p> Reading Recovery Teacher Certificate (or willing to train) <p> Understanding that literacy acquisition is a complex process<p> Cognizant of the importance of using all available teaching time<p> for assessment, selection and the teaching of Reading Recovery children<p> Able<p> to administer, analyze and summarize data from the Observation of Early<p> Literacy Achievement as well as Daily Running Records<p> Able to plan and respond to the literacy needs of students using the procedures in a Reading Recovery lesson<p> Be responsive to the needs of the student utilizing different instructional scaffolds<p> Ability to build in oral language, reading and writing activities that meet the learning needs of all students<p> Knowledge of different ways to monitor and share student progress<p> Proficient with technology with the ability to use a variety of applications needed to complete year end paperwork<p> Committed to the social, emotional, physical and academic development of each student<p> Experienced working with the school team<p> Ability to be collaborative with Reading Recovery Colleagues both informally and during Continuing Contact In-Service Sessions<p> Ability to teach lessons for colleagues during In-Service Sessions<p> Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills<p> Has strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving<p> skills including the ability to work effectively with teachers, parents,<p> administrators, and other team members<p> Commitment to early literacy and early intervention<p> Commitment to working with colleagues on staff development<p> activities linked to the school's Framework for Enhancing Student<p> Learning<p> Knowledge of the learning outcomes and evaluation process to support the classroom programs with different strategies<p> Demonstrates success in achieving quality outcomes for all students<p> Experience working with students with complex needs<p> Strong management techniques that maintain an effective learning environment and student dignity<p><p><p><p><p>Interested applicants are required to supply <p><p> Three (3) references<p> Verification of qualifications (BC Teacher Certificate) <p><p> <p><p>Compensation <p><p> $2000 relocation allowance for teachers from BC, AB and Yukon and up to $4000 for teachers from other areas<p> $3,035 recruitment allowance (paid over 10 months of the school year, based on the FTE)<p> Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $65, 397 - $111,952<p> Benefits as per collective agreement with option to enroll in medical, dental, extended health, and group life insurance.
