Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dusty. Noisy. Tasks: Perform security checks within plant and on grounds. Analyze test results and instrument readings. Complete and maintain plant logs and reports. Help with the installation, the assembly, and repairs to equipment. Maintain chemical feed stocks. Make adjustments to plant equipment and systems. Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and to ensure plant systems are operating normally. Monitor and read recording instruments to detect equipment malfunctions and ensure plant systems and equipment are operating within prescribed limits. Operate and monitor computerized control systems and related equipment to regulate the treatment and distribution of water. Patrol plant to check pumps, motors, filters, chlorinators and other plant equipment. Read recording instruments to measure output and consumption levels, bacterial content, chlorine and fluoride levels. Respond to customer complaints on water quality problems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Water Distribution Certificate (Levels I, II, III or IV). Water Treatment Certificate (Levels I, II, III or IV). Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Public transportation is not available. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Own tools/equipment: Gloves. Hard hat. Steel-toed safety boots.
