As Program Coordinator, the position is responsible for maintaining emergency plans for the Police department, including Business Continuity plans. The position acts as a liaison for the Police Department with the overall City of Delta Emergency Program. NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORKReporting to the sergeant in charge of Public Safety Operations, this position is responsible for planning and logistics of emergency planning and disaster response. As support to operations, this position will also be responsible for the maintenance of CBRN equipment and fit-testing.Duties include:Emergency Management / Business ContinuityReview/Update/Distribute the Department?s emergency plans annually Review/Update/Distribute Business Continuity plans annually Participate in the City of Delta Emergency Planning Working Group Organize Emergency Preparedness exercises for Police and Police Staff Instruct new members on Emergency Preparedness Maintain internal emergency communication records Maintain mass emergency communication tools Assist Delta City?s Emergency Planner with the City?s Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Program (NEPP) and Teen NEPPChemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN)Coordinate and Conduct annual APR and N95 Fit testing Instruct and fit test APRs and N95 masks for recruitsEvent Operational PlansParticipate in community event planning with City stakeholders Assist the Public Safety Operations (PSO) Sergeant with operational Plans for events including Emergency response Staffing and Resource plans Communication plans Coordinate resource callouts Maintain required equipment (vehicles, radios) Debrief events and maintain information for future plans Assist PSO Sergeant with vendor relationships with the City and local stakeholders Assist PSO Sergeant with billing estimates and provide information to accounts receivable Assist PSO Sergeant with managing callouts and resources (members, vehicles, radios, etc)Special Event PermitsLiaise with the BC Liquor and Cannabis Licensing Branch as required Review applications for Special Event Permits to ensure compliance with regulations and community safety requirements Determine appropriate terms and conditions to add to a permit Determine if the event could be subject to the Inadmissible Patron Program Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIESConsiderable related experience of a progressively responsible nature in a role related to emergency management An understanding of the British Columbia Emergency Management System (BCEMS) Sound knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles, and practices of emergency management and business continuity Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive and confidential matters Demonstrated sound judgment, integrity, and dependability Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization, the City, and the public Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to type at least 40 wpm Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a busy, dynamic environment with changing priorities and competing demands, and reliably meet tight deadlines Considerable working knowledge of emergency services office environments, culture, and general processes and proceduresREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCECompletion of Grade 12 Completion of post-
