*JOB POSTING * *MIDDLESEX HOSPITAL ALLIANCE* *STRATHROY MIDDLESEX GENERAL HOSPITAL* *Posting #125-2024* *REGULAR FULL-TIME HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL * Health Records Department *Position Objective: * Reporting to the Manager of Health Information Services & Finance, the Health Information Professional will be responsible for coding and abstracting inpatient, day surgery and emergency records using ICD-10-CA and CCI into 3M information system. The individual is responsible for adhering to coding standards and guidelines set out by CIHI, Ministry of Health and the hospital. *Job Qualifications:* * Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and proof of 2 COVID-19 Vaccinations * Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 12 months * Graduate from a recognized Health Information Management program * Certified member in good standing with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) and maintained on an annual basis * 2-3 years of recent DAD and NACRS coding experience * Working knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Coding Standards and ICD-10-CA/CCI * Experience with 3M abstracting software is an asset * Experience with Cerner and online documentation is an asset * Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required * Demonstrated attention to detail with high level of accuracy and data quality * Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills * Adhere to and prioritize monthly and quarterly deadlines * Demonstrate initiative and to use good judgement either working independently or in a group as a team member * Other office duties as required * Demonstrated excellence in attendance * Position available November 2024 _\*The MHA is a __*FRAGRANCE REDUCED*_ _environment\*_ Qualified individuals interested in this opportunity may submit a resume using the online form.
