*Position Overview:*
Reporting to the Shipping Manager, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the shipping processes within the logistics department in accordance with plant policies and procedures and in compliance with safety policies. The Logistics Coordinator ensures the quality and efficiency of shipped products while maintaining the on-time delivery requirements of Vinylbilt.
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
Sources quotations from various logistics suppliers for the best possible price;
Schedules third party delivery of products to and from Vinylbilt;
Ensures prompt and professional communication with customers regarding delivery schedule;
Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating all shipping processes and procedures and ensuring that processes are communicated accurately to Supervisor;
Manages all inbound and outbound shipments through company fleet or third party transportation;
Communicates status and escalations to Site Director accordingly;
Releases completed orders for shipments;
Releases customer pick up orders and invoices customers;
Works closely with customer service and the production departments to expedite orders and communicate status;
Creates weekly reports relating to short shipments, reason for short shipment, and updates delivery dates;
Attends and contributes department numbers in collaboration with the shipping department during weekly planning meetings with all production and management;
Accountable for all third party logistics/shipping budgets;
Generates all schedules for skidding accounts;
Ensures that all employees adhere to and follows the ?Delivery Procedures Manual?; ensures updates of manual are completed and communicated as required;
Completes all data entry in Delivery Program through completing confirmation of delivery, releasing of orders, preparing delivery packages and all administrative duties as required;
Performs daily routing maintenance, (which Dealer, which truck);
Other duties as required.
*Qualifications*
· 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment (vinyl window manufacturing experience);
· College Diploma or university Degree in a related discipline;
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner;
· Strong sense of urgency to meet tight timelines;
· Able to generate reports and communicate results to peers and management;
· Advanced Microsoft Office skills - Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
· Able to motivate and coach staff through continuous training initiatives and regular audits.
