Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Asset languages: Mandarin. Cantonese. Tasks: Study market reports, trade periodicals and sales promotion materials. Arrange product according to planogram. Establish and maintain contact with suppliers. Maintain adequate stock levels. Negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements with suppliers. Oversee distribution of merchandise to outlets. Provide customer service. Review requirements of establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase. Select and purchase merchandise for resale. Supervise work of other buyers. Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories and product design events. Supervise other jewellers or watch repairers. Examine, cut, shape and polish diamonds and precious and synthetic gems. Appraise gemstones and diamonds to identify rare specimens and to detect peculiarity affecting stone values.
