The Developmental Service Worker plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This position involves working closely with clients at our day program to enhance their quality of life through various supportive services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and have experience in environments such as senior care, assisted living, or home care settings.
*Duties*
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility support.
* Provide medication administration as required, ensuring adherence to prescribed schedules.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to hygiene and safety protocols.
* Support clients in achieving their personal goals through tailored care plans.
* Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate personnel.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care for each client.
* Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
*Qualifications*
* Previous experience as DSW, similar environments is preferred.
* Strong skills in patient care practices are essential.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients physically when needed.
* Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
* Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to providing high-quality care.
