*Job description*
Delco Automation is currently hiring for the position of *Electrical Design Engineer. *This position will be based out of our Head Office location in Saskatoon, SK, and will report to the Electrical Design Engineering Supervisor. We are seeking a new graduate or intermediate level candidate who is interested in gaining experience in Industrial Control Systems, is self-motivated, and possesses a strong desire to continually learn.

*Responsibilities*
* Design electrical control, power, and communication systems for industrial and commercial customers including water treatment, wastewater treatment, processing facilities, and correctional, and health care industries.
* Design electrical control systems that incorporate PLCs, HMIs, relays, motor controllers, instruments, and custom vendor equipment.
* Design network and communications systems including ethernet networks, wired serial communication networks, and communications devices and infrastructure.
* Design security systems including electronic physical access control, CCTV, intercom, and public address systems.
* Design basic low voltage power systems that include equipment such as circuit breakers, fuses, disconnects, panelboards, power transformers, and motor starters.
* Perform calculations to support design tasks, such as loading calculations, short circuit calculations, and enclosure heating/cooling calculations.
* Designs include schematics, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, equipment layouts, bills of material, instrument selection, as well as specification and review of custom equipment.
* Mentorship and technical guidance for junior designers.
*Requirements*
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic Systems, Computer, or Engineering Physics), or Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma.
* Experience in AutoCAD.
* Experience designing electrical control, power, and communication systems.
* Experience with regulatory codes and standards such as the Canadian Electrical Code.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English is essential.
*Desired*
* Membership with APEGS or eligible for membership.
* Experience with PLC/HMI programming and configuration of industrial electrical devices.
* Experience with VBA for Microsoft applications, and .LISP programming.
* Experience with on-site commissioning and start-up.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills.
* Ability to read/comprehend technical drawings and written specifications quickly, as well as retain that information for long period of time.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in team environments is required.
