People like you!The City of Burnaby has an exciting opportunity available as Recreation Instructor - Personal Trainer. The Parks, Recreation and Culture department is looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals as Personal Trainers at our recreation centres with weight rooms to provide personal training programs for youth, adults and older adults, focusing on functional exercises, balance, agility, cardiovascular fitness, strength and flexibility. Personal Trainers will also perform related work as required. Benefits include ongoing professional development and mentorship, scheduling to meet individual needs and the opportunity to work as a part of a dynamic and creative team of Recreation Leaders and supervisors. Our programs have a reputation in the community for excellence, inclusion and fun.Applicants must hold current registration with BCRPA in Personal Training or related equivalent with one or more fitness-related modules, i.e. Older Adult, Osteofit, Pilates and Yoga Fitness and have experience planning and delivering personal training sessions. Other related duties include communicating with program coordinators as well as program/equipment set up and tear down. Other qualifications include Emergency First Aid certification, CPR Level C and strong customer service and communication skills. This work is suitable to individuals seeking occasional and/or part-time seasonal work, preference will be given to candidates with prior experience exceeding six months.Hourly Wage: $31.50 - $40 depending on experience and certifications.Location(s): Bonsor Recreation Complex, Cameron Recreation Complex, Christine Sinclair Community Centre, Edmonds Community Centre, Eileen Dailly Fitness Centre, and Willingdon Community Centre.Hours of Work: We are looking for candidates who will be available Monday to Sunday between the hours of 7am-10pm.
