As part of this promise, we are committed to prioritizing employees, maintaining open communications, and consistently improving and growing. *Your role as a Mechanical Engineer* Reporting to the Manager of Mechanical Engineering Services, you will be responsible for executing, coordinating, and expediting a succession of different engineering activities, to support capital project requirements and produce project documents and drawings with a high level of quality and accuracy. *Your Key Accountabilities* * Execute the design and analysis of mechanical systems including, but not limited to, underground and surface mining infrastructure, pumping and piping systems, HVAC systems, industrial mechanical systems, and specification of various types of mechanical equipment. * Develop mechanical engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. * Collaborate with other engineers, designers and project stakeholders to develop comprehensive mechanical design solutions that meet project requirements and objectives. * Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing mechanical systems, identify potential issues, and provide recommendations for remedial action. * Participate in project meetings, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to address technical challenges. * Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in mechanical engineering practices, applying them to enhance project efficiency and innovation. * Assist in the preparation of project proposals, including scope definition and cost estimation, to secure new business opportunities. * Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the engineering team, promoting best practices and adherence to industry standards. *Qualifications* * Degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline. * Professional engineering license in Ontario (P.Eng). * Minimum of 6 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience. * Good knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and guidelines with strong industrial experience. * Experience in engineering design for surface and underground mining operations is an asset. * Experience in engineering design for industrial surface plants is an asset. * Demonstrated ability to collect and compile operational data and prepare scopes of work, estimates, schedules, budgets, specifications, and reports. * Ability to prepare and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, layouts, and other visual aids. * Extensive computer knowledge in industry applications, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD and MicroStation. * Ability to work within a large range of project sizes, including adhering to project budgets and schedules. * Able to ensure that all designs will maintain a safe operating environment. * Knowledge and experience in the following areas is considered an asset: Pumping systems, ASME B31 pressure piping systems, Underground dewatering systems, Underground mine infrastructure, Industrial HVAC, Conveyor and material handling systems, Compressed air systems, Dust collection systems, Hazardous piping systems (oxygen, acid, SO2, etc.), Fire protection systems, Plant3D, Other industrial mechanical systems, and Construction support and on-site commissioning * Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with exceptional report writing skills. * Effectively liaise with other engineers, speci- LocationGreater Sudbury, ON
