Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Dog/pet/animal grooming. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Pet grooming shop. Pet shop. Tasks: Bathe and shampoo animals. Clip animal coat. Document animal behaviour. Style animal coat. Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stall and enclosures. Clean animal ears. Provide flea bath treatments to animals. Clip animal nails. Perform expert clipping on show animals with tools including clippers, shears and massage sponges. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Pet Grooming Certificate. Type of pets groomed: All breeds of dogs. Cats. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Standing for extended periods.
