*Job Summary*
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced *Senior Accountant* to join our accounting team and oversee the accounting aspects of our ongoing projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance, and project management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects while contributing to the financial success of our organization.
*Job Duties and Responsibilities*
* Lead the interim and year-end audit activities
* Maintain the general ledger and prepare to adjust and correct entries
* Approve monthly, quarterly, annual journal entries, reconciliations
* Provide coaching and training for junior staff members
* Prepare financial reports for leadership team
* Identify and implement improvements to financial control inefficiencies
* Complete monthly closing of the accounting records
* Preparation of the monthly combined balance sheet, income statement and cash flow
* Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual bank covenant reports
* Preparation of the annual combined financial statements including detailed notes to the financial statements
* Work with independent CPA for CRA and bank reporting including preparation of NTR and Review Engagement financial statements
* Update accounting policies and disclosures as required
*Skills & Qualifications*
* 2-3 years experience in the feild of accounting
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent professional experience
* Detail-oriented with exceptional attention to accuracy
* Experience with public practice an asset
* Ability to foster positive working relationships and demonstrated leadership skills
* Proficiency in accounting software's, Sage, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
