Job Title: Project Accountant / Office Manager / Accounts Payable

*Job Summary:* The Project Accountant and/or Office Manager will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects. This includes budgeting, cost tracking, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. You will also be responsible for managing accounts payable for each project, responding to payment inquiries, and preparing payments for suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with project managers and other stakeholders.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Manage all financial aspects of assigned construction projects.
* Manage the daily and weekly project bookkeeping needs
* Prepare and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
* Track project costs, analyze variances, and ensure accurate cost allocation.
* Process invoices, subcontractor payments, and expense reports.
* Reconcile project accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
* Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial objectives are met.
* Provide financial analysis and support for decision-making.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
* Assist in preparing year-end audit files and financial statements.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes.
* Maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems for financial and office documents.
* Provide general administrative support, including scheduling, correspondence, and file management.
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is an asset
* CPA designation is an asset
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
* Experience as an executive assistant or in role relevant to the general management of an office is an asset
* Proficiency in QBO, Google Sheets, Slack, and Microsoft Excel.
* Knowledge of VBA and/or experience with coda.io is an asset
* Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* High level of trustworthiness and discretion, especially when handling financial information and purchases.
